Kankakee, IL- On Sunday, December 13, 2015, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with other agencies throughout Kankakee County, hosted the 24th Annual “Shop-With-A-Cop” event. Forty area police officers volunteered their time by picking up about seventy children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old at their homes. The children were transported in police cars to the Bradley McDonalds (2050 N State Route 50, Bradley, IL) for breakfast with the officers. At the conclusion of their breakfast, the children were transported to the Bradley Wal-Mart (2080 N State Route 50, Bradley, IL) where the officers, as well as several volunteers, assisted the children in choosing gift. Each child was also provided with hats and gloves to help keep them warm during the winter. Additionally, each child that participated was given a Christmas food basket to bring home to their families.
