Pembroke Man Sentenced to 71 Months in Federal Prison

January 11, 2019 – Kankakee, IL – Pembroke Townshipresident, Dennis Hogan (32 years of age) was sentenced to 71 months in federalprison earlier today by the Honorable Judge Shadid.  Hogan pled guilty onAugust 30th in a 2017 case where he fired a semi-automatic rifle in thedirection of another person at the Pembroke Citgo station.  Hogan receivedsentencing enhancements for firing the weapon in public and for recklessendangerment when he fled from law enforcement upon his apprehension. 

“I applaud the efforts of our deputies and investigators, who worked with Project Safe Neighborhoods, the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office and the US Attorney’s Office (Asst. US Attorney Brian Freres) on the case,” said Sheriff Mike Downey.  “Having someone like Hogan, who has demonstrated his willingness to create violence, incarcerated for such a long period of time is an obvious advantage to the community at large.”
