Sheriff’s Investigators Seeking Information on Vehicle vs Pedestrian Hit and Run Accident
Yesterday evening (1/6/23) at approximately 8:20 pm, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of 2700 South 13000 East Road in Pembroke Township in regards to a pedestrian that was struck by a southbound vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders rendered aid to the pedestrian, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition (identity being withheld at this time for privacy reasons).
Witnesses in the area described the vehicle, that continued southbound upon striking the pedestrian, as a dark colored car (possibly a Dodge or Chevrolet). A still image of the offending vehicle can be seen in the attached photograph. The offending vehicle is believed to have extensive front end damage, particularly in the grill area.
“While this man continues to fight for his life, we are simply asking anyone with any information, and more specifically those directly involved, to do the right thing by coming forward and speaking with investigators,” said Sheriff Mike Downey. “Just a reminder that information provided via our CrimeStoppers (815-93-CRIME) tip line remains completely anonymous and could result in a cash reward.”
