Shots Fired in Limestone, One Resident With Several Gunshot Wounds

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 2500 block of West Route 17 yesterday afternoon at approximately 8:30 pm regarding a ‘Shots Fired’ call.  Upon arrival, deputies located a 19-year-old resident of the home that was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Deputies rendered first-aid to the victim until paramedics arrived on scene.  It should be noted that the victim was extremely uncooperative with officers on scene and refused to provide any information regarding the incident, although they have no reason to believe that the incident was a random act of violence.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for what is believed to be considered, ‘non-life-threatening injuries’.

Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the incident and encourage anyone with any information to contact them at (815.802.7150).  Those wishing to remain anonymous can do so by calling CrimeStoppers at (815.93.CRIME/815.932.7463).  Information that leads to the identification, apprehension and/or conviction of those responsible could result in a cash reward.
