Arrest Made in 2016 Triple-Homicide in Pembroke Township
The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the US Department of Justice, has announced an arrest in the October 2016 murders of Reginald Neal (56 years of age), Deangelo Neal (24 years of age) and Davante Hopkins (21 years of age). All three were murdered at their residence, located in the 4300 South block of 15500 East Rd in Pembroke Township.
Dante D Dockett, 44 of Chicago, has been arrested for the murders and is currently in federal custody.
“I credit our investigators for their relentless pursuit for justice in this case,” said Sheriff Mike Downey. “This has been an extremely challenging investigation. Many of those involved were not from the immediate area, which required working collectively with other law enforcement entities. It should be noted, however, that we felt confident that the victims in this particular case were targeted and that the residents of Pembroke Township and Kankakee County were at no greater risk while the investigation pursued over time.”
“The arrest in this case was made due to the cooperation of all of the agencies involved, including a great deal of work by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) , the Chicago Police Department, as well as the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office,” said Downey. “I want to emphasize that this case remains under investigation and that additional arrests in the future are likely.”
