Fugitive Wanted on Several Domestic-Violence Related Charges Apprehended Yesterday

The suspect of a Domestic Battery case that took place on Apple Lane in Bourbonnais on Wednesday, December 21st, was apprehended yesterday morning by Kankakee Police Officers. 

At approximately 11:42 pm last Wednesday, deputies were called to a residence in regards to a Domestic Battery that had just occurred.  The suspect, 27-year-old, Joshua J. Adams, of Bourbonnais, had fled the scene prior to arrival.  He is suspected of severely battering his live-in girlfriend about the face with his hands and feet, as well as destroying the home prior to fleeing with the victims’ child’s Christmas presents. 

Adams, who is also facing charges from an incident on December 31st in Manchester, IN for aiding Darius Sullivan in the murder of a Bradley Police Officer and an attempted murder of another Bradley Police Officer, was wanted on numerous outstanding arrest warrants out of Kankakee and DuPage Counties for Domestic Battery, Harassment, Criminal Damage, Assault, as well as several traffic-related offenses (22CF774, 21TR5002-3, 20TR1600, 18TR13606, 16TR12575, 17CM833, 16CM1003, 16CM954, 20CM20, 20CM123 and 20TR6081).

“I thank the Kankakee Police Department, as well as our investigators and other police officers throughout Kankakee County, who worked diligently throughout the holiday weekend to track this dangerous individual down and, subsequently, remove him from our streets,” said Sheriff Mike Downey.  “This domestic abuser has demonstrated his violent tendencies on numerous occasions and ultimately belongs behind bars.”

Adams remains incarcerated at the Jerome Combs Detention Center where he awaits his initial bond hearing in a Kankakee County courtroom later this afternoon.
