MoneyPak Scam

FBI-Virus

The FBI Anti-Piracy Warning MoneyPak Ransom is a computer virus, which will display a bogus notification that pretends to be from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and states that your computer has been blocked due to it being involved with the distribution of pornographic material, SPAM and copyrighted content.  The FBI Anti-Piracy Warning virus will lock you out of your computer and applications, so whenever you’ll try to log into your Windows operating system or Safe Mode with Networking, it will instead display a locked screen asking you to pay $400 in the form of a Green Dot MoneyPak code (which the FBI would NEVER do).  Furthermore, to make its alert seem more authentic, this virus also has the ability to access your installed webcam, so that the bogus FBI Anti-Piracy Warning will show what is happening in the room.  You should NEVER send an unknown person(s) money in the form of a Green Dot MoneyPak code (or any other form of payment) without being 100% sure of who it is going to.  These are often hackers in different countries throughout the world preying on our vulnerabilities.  No law enforcement agency would ever request payment in this form.  If you are ever uncertain about what you may suspect to be a scam, please call your local law enforcement’s official telephone number.
