November 29, 2015- KANKAKEE, IL – Kankakee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3700 block of S Wheeler Road in Pembroke Township Saturday evening (11/28) in regards to a deceased subject.  Upon arrival, Deputies observed 83-year-old Hopkins Park resident, Zeenie Young in the residence.  Ms. Young was deceased prior to police arrival as a result of injuries that she had received from another individual.

A homicide investigation has been initiated and due to the massive cuts of Sheriff’s Deputies, the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Tech Unit was requested.  No arrests have been made at this time.  This marks the second homicide in a week that is being handled by the Sheriff’s Police with the assistance of the Illinois State Police.
