Sheriff’s Detectives Asking For Information Regarding Death Investigation in Rural Aroma Park

At approximately midnight overnight, sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the rural Aroma Park area located a vehicle parked on the side of the roadway near 3500 E on 2000S Rd (commonly referred to as Day Road).  Shortly after exiting their patrol vehicle to investigate why the vehicle was parked on the shoulder of the roadway, deputies located an unresponsive subject nearby in a farm field.

Paramedics arrived on scene and, subsequently, contacted the Coroner’s Office where 50 year old, Jesus J Ayala Perez of Momence, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Due to some suspicious circumstances at the scene, detectives are classifying the case as a Death Investigation at this time,” said Sheriff Mike Downey.  “We are asking anyone that has any information regarding the incident to please contact our investigators at (815) 802-7150.  Anyone that wishes to remain anonymous can call into CrimeStoppers at (815) 93-CRIME (815-932-7463).  As a reminder, information provided via CrimeStoppers that assists law enforcement could likely result in a cash reward.”
