CAR JACKING LEADS TO SHOOTING

Kankakee, IL-Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a subject shot in the Sun River Terrace area this morning about 1:28am. Once on scene it was determined that 18 year old Cleophus C. Reed of Kankakee was deceased from a gunshot wound after he and another subject allegedly attempted to car jack and arm rob an individual in the city of Kankakee. The victim was taken at gunpoint to his residence where shots were exchanged between the individuals. The investigation continues and it is believed that one of the robbery suspects is still at large.
