Three Arrested for Residential Burglary
Kankakee, IL- At approximately 2:45 pm on Sunday afternoon (4/26/2015), Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of 6100 East 7000 North Road in rural Manteno in response to a Residential Burglary. Police were contacted by two residents that had arrived home and observed an unusual vehicle backed up to their garage and unknown subjects loading property into the car. The homeowners pursued the burglary suspects as they fled in the vehicle eastbound on 7000 North Road.
The burglary suspects collided with a passing motorist at the intersection of 7000 North Road and Route 1 (in rural Grant Park). Responding deputies, who were in the area investigating another Residential Burglary, were able to apprehend all three suspects after a brief foot-chase subsequent the crash.
The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office identified the alleged offenders as: 20 year-old Ricky D Carr of Gary, IN; 24 year-old, Timothy Pompy of Chicago, IL; and 26 year-old Joshua Helfin of Gary, IN. Are three suspects are currently confined at the Jerome Combs Detention center and are due in court for their arraignment hearings this afternoon.
